Italian Team Liquigas-Doimo, represented by bright green and blue colors, is one of the veteran organizations among pro cycling teams in the peloton. Established in 1997 and having held several different title sponsor names, the team is currently fi’zi:k’s longest running Pro Tour partnership at six years strong.
The team, also sponsored by Cannondale – one of fi’zi:k’s first original equipment partners – plays an important role in product testing and development. As they are ‘in the backyard’ of the Pozzoleone factory, the riders are constantly prototype testing and providing valuable feedback to fi’zi:k’s product managers. It was Ivan Basso, in fact, who worked closely with fi’zi:k during the development process of the Antares and then later, the Antares 00.
In 2010, 13 riders on the roster of twenty-eight, including Basso, will be riding the Antares. Team Liqugas-Doimo is deep with talent, including Basso, Franco Pellizotti, Vincenzo Nibali and rising young stars Roman Kreuziger and Daniel Oss. Look for the big fi’zi:k logo on the back of the shorts when riders are up the road in the breaks, and the bright green and blue colors of Liquigas-Doimo are well represented.
